Should You Use Direct Mailing for Your Inflatable Moon Walks Business

Posted By : Gary Simon Date Created : October 22nd, 2012 Date Updated : May 30th, 2018

Black n White Bounce HouseNot very long ago, what are the only ways that business owners could make sure that new customers knew about their business was to get involved with direct mailings. Direct mailings are way to send out a massive amount of information, to a massive amount of people, in a very formal way. Have you ever received those little postcards in your post office box that talk about a new business that is in your area? That is a result of direct mailing. People who start their inflatable moon walks business often wonder if they should look into getting involved with direct mailings or not.

Somebody who works for a large printing company will obviously tell you that direct mailings are the best way to get information out about your business. Again, 20 years ago this would definitely be true. Now, however, we live in the age of technology and people are more likely to get information via their email than they are the post office box. If you want a good example of how well direct mailing works, head to your local post office and check out their recycling bin. Inside of the recycling bin you will likely see hundreds upon hundreds of direct mailing postcards that were likely simply glanced at and then thrown into the recycling bin. Does this seem like a good way to get new business?

So if direct mailing is a great way to get new business for your inflatable moon walks company, then what is? You could actually use the idea of direct mailings, with the digital twist on them, to help you to get more business. The digital twist basically means using email to help spread the word about your business. How can you do this? First, make sure there is a page on your website that allows people to sign up for newsletter, but you have to make sure that the newsletter is worthwhile to sign up for. For instance you may want to give something like a 5% off coupon to those who sign up for the newsletter as no one enjoys signing up for this type of information without getting some sort of reward in exchange. Once you have people signed up for the newsletter, make sure you send one out regularly and that it is full of interesting information. You may also want to give benefits to those people who pass along information about your business and who get you more emails to connect with as well.

Your Inflatable Moonwalks and Customer Appreciation

Posted By : Gary Simon Date Created : September 30th, 2012 Date Updated : May 30th, 2018

Fun House InflatableAfter you’ve owned your bounce house rental business for a while you will realize that you likely have a number of customers who are not only repeat customers, but you’re also helping to get the word out there about your business. These customers can be the difference between a thriving business and one that is barely able to stand on its own. It doesn’t matter what type of inflatable moonwalks you rent, if you have customers who are truly responsible for helping your business to shine, it is important to recognize them.

Recognizing Your Customers

Customer appreciation is something that every business owner should think about regularly. Yes, there are plenty of other things you need to be thinking about in order to keep your bounce house rental business floating, but you have to remember that without customers you would not have a business. You should also realize that without repeat customers, and customers who are good at getting your name out there, your business would not be anywhere near the success it currently is. That is why it’s extremely important to make sure that you recognize those customers who mean the difference between your business thriving and not.

There are a few different ways that you can do this. The most obvious is to offer them a free inflatable moonwalks rental. It should be easy for you to figure out which customers are truly deserving of the customer appreciation gifts and once you do so you can simply send those customers a coupon allowing them to have a discounted, or free, inflatable moonwalks rental. This not only can be a huge surprise for the customer, it can also work in your favor as well. Customers who are extremely happy about being recognized are much more likely to talk to others about your business and to explain how amazing you are then those were completely ignored.

It’s important to realize that you don’t have to spend a fortune to recognize your customers. For instance you can start a VIP club. A VIP club gives customers who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in getting your name out to the public special perks. Maybe they get a huge discount on any inflatable that they, or their friends rent. Maybe they get to hear about special offers before anyone else does. There are many ways that you can recognize your customers and show them how much you appreciate them, so make sure you take a little time to think about how you are going to show your customers how much they mean to you.

Rules for Bounce House Employees

Posted By : Gary Simon Date Created : August 24th, 2012 Date Updated : May 30th, 2018

Princess V Roof CastleWhen you first start a business renting moonwalks, you will likely be doing so on your own or with the help of your partner. After a few years, however, if you have done things correctly your business may get to the point where you need to hire employees. When you own your own business it’s easy to tell yourself what you need to do, but many new business owners do not realize that they need to make the rules clear for their employees as well. It is always a good idea when you own a business to set down some ground rules that your employees need to follow. Every business has their own rules, but you can customize the rules to work for your specific business. Here are a few rule ideas that you may find to be a good fit for your moonwalks rental business.

Dress Code – One thing that many people love about owning a moonwalks rental business is the fact that they don’t have to wear a suit and tie every day. While there is no need to be formal when setting up the bounce house, it is a good idea to make sure that all your employees have a similar look. It can be very inexpensive to purchase printed T-shirts that have your business’s name and logo long, allowing your employees to look professional while also giving you a bit of free advertising at the same time.

Language – Studies have been done that is shown that if you injure yourself, and you swear immediately following the injury, the pain that you feel is actually lessened. But when you own a moonwalks rental business, however, you are around children on a regular basis which means that you will need to watch the swears coming out of your mouth. Make sure all employees know that swearing is not allowed whenever you are setting up moonwalks.

Staying On Time – One thing that all employees of a moonwalks rental business need to understand is time management. Being there when you say that you will be is extremely important. Being late makes not only the employee look bad, but makes the entire business look bad. Make sure that your employees understand how important staying on time is. You can even create, and enforce, a punishment system for being late, such as docking them a few dollars for every hour they are late to a setup (as long as there are no extenuating circumstances, that is).

Remember: it’s your business so you get to set the rules, but be sure to set some rules so that you are able to have a business that thrives rather than one that takes a dive-bomb.

Ground Quality and Your Moonwalk

Posted By : Gary Simon Date Created : June 13th, 2012 Date Updated : May 30th, 2018

Whale JumpOnce you start running your bounce house rental business, you’ll realize how much paperwork and “other” stuff you have to do to keep the business running and to help it to thrive. With all of these things you have to do, they can make one believe that setting up the moonwalks is the least of your worries. The truth of the matter is, however, that setting up your moonwalks can actually be a bit tricky if you don’t know how to do it correctly. One of the biggest things you have to pay attention to is the ground that you are setting the bounce house up on.

Just Right

The bounce house is going to be taking a lot of punishment, and it is important to realize that the ground underneath the bounce house has to be up to the task of handling everything that the bounce house is going to be put through. Let’s start first by examining set up locations that are filled with grass. You may believe the grass is the best place to set up moonwalks on, but it may not be. Take a look at the grass that is growing in a location. If it is dried out, chances are good that the soil underneath his uncared for and that you may have a very difficult time hammering your stakes into the ground. The best type of grassy location to set up your moonwalk on should be filled with healthy, shiny looking grass. This grass should be easy to hammer the stakes into. You may want to consider laying a tarp down on top of the grass before you set up the bounce house. The tarp will absorb much of the friction that occurs between the bounce house and the grass which preserves not only the bounce house but also the grass.

You can set moonwalks up on concrete, but it’s important to make sure that you find the most flat and level piece of land you can if you are setting up on pavement. You won’t be driving stakes into concrete, but instead will be using heavy sandbags which is why having a level location is very important. If the ground is slanted underneath the bounce house, is much more likely to slide in a direction that it likely should not go. Remember: finding a good set up location is extremely important and will not only help to ensure that your bounce house stays in good shape for a long time, but will also help to make sure the your client has the best experience possible.

Should You Purchase a Used Bounce House Business

Posted By : Gary Simon Date Created : May 25th, 2012 Date Updated : May 29th, 2018

Candy MoonwalkNot everyone is equipped to run their own business, but unfortunately what generally happens is that people believe they have the ability to run their business and to purchase the equipment they need only to quickly discover that the business is not what they dreamed it would be. When this happens they have two choices – throw everything away or sell everything they can to try to recoup some of their losses. In general, people tend to try to sell their belongings. This leaves those who are looking to get into the bounce house rental business with interesting dilemma: do you start your moonwalks rental business by purchasing brand-new inflatables, or do you save a bit of money and purchased a used business?

Used Bounce House Business

There are definitely a number of benefits to purchasing a used moonwalks rental business, with the main benefit being the ability to save money. Most moonbounce sellers are getting rid of their inventory simply because they want to try to recoup some of the money they spent on starting a business, and because of this they are generally likely to sell you their products at a fairly reasonable price. Is this, however, a good idea?

Whenever you look at a used bounce house to buy, there are number of things that you need to keep in mind before making the purchase, starting with the quality of the moonwalks that you’re looking to purchase. Did the seller purchase high-quality moonwalks to begin with, or do they purchase shoddy products? How often was a used? If it was used only a few times, it is likely still in very good condition. If, however, it was rented out a number of times, the condition of the unit should definitely be brought into question.

Buying New

It can definitely be tempting to want to save money by purchasing a used moonwalks rental business, but unless you’re very careful you may find that you’ll actually spend more money by purchasing used business. This is because these types of units are built to last, but they don’t last forever. If you don’t know anything about the quality of moonwalks, you may also find yourself the owner of the unit that is not designed for commercial use. If you truly are serious about starting your own business, you may want to save up your money to purchase units brand-new rather than to purchase them used.
